The following provides links to sites with interesting information on fibre optics. I have avoided links to sites that are purely commercial with no technical reference material. If you want to find these then searches using a standard search engine such as Google or Bing are recommended.

Corning is one of the world's highest producers of optical fibre for communications purposes. They provide an excellent site in their optical fibre information centre. Both light and technical articles to be found.

Lightwave is a magazine read by many in the field. Visit their site that includes information on new products and industry news in North America.

Lennie Lightwave's Guide to Fibre Optic Testing can be found on the web for free. Covers a large range of the basics needed in the fibre optic field.

Tyco Electronics is a major manufacturer and provides a electronic catalogue at its site - look for fiiber optics under the products heading.
